I made this a couple of years ago for my kids daycare provider. It was such a simple project, that made such an impact! I found this awesome free printable over at Sweet Coconut Lime, and printed it off using a free 8×10 coupon from Walgreens (they give them out fairly regularly so it pays to sign up for their emails). I stuck the print into a floating frame I found at our local Goodwill for $1.99. Then I spray painted an old mason jar that I had lying around the house with the most awesome turquoise paint ever. Once it was dry (a couple of hours later) I filled the bottom couple of inches with small rocks I had left over from our wedding (you can get them at the dollar store) and then added some MiracleGro potting mix. I stuck a bright yellow/orange pansy in the jar and it was done! The whole thing probably only took me 10 minutes (excluding dry time), but it is something that I know she still loves to this day!
She sent me this picture this spring when she replanted a new pansy in her painted jar! I love these kinds of gifts! I plan on making another one for my son’s teacher this year! And I am going to include this getting to know you free printable from the girls over at eighteen25 so that I can tailor future gifts to her specific likes!
