With only 9 more Wednesday’s until Christmas I am going to be sharing an easy gift idea every Wednesday until Christmas!
I made these quick and easy magnet clothespins for my son’s teacher for her birthday, but they would make a great Christmas gift as well! They were super quick and easy, so much so that I didn’t remember to take any pictures during the process! Oops!
All you need are enough clothespins to spell out whatever word you are making (in my case I needed seven). Then paint the clothespins whatever color combination works for you. These ones are painted the same colors as she has decorated her classroom so I know she will like them but you could do reds and greens for a more holiday feel.
Once they are dry simply pull out some extra scrabble letter tiles to spell out your word. I keep an extra bag of these lying around, but you can easily find then at a second hand store for next to nothing or even order them online!
I chose to give my letters a quick coat of white spray paint so that they would pop next to the brightly painted clothespins and then traced over the inset letters with a black sharpie. I used E6000 to attach the letters to the clothespins and then stuck adhesive magnets on the back! This project took me about 15 minutes excluding drying time but it is something I know she will love!

This is so adorable! I hope you don’t mind–I was totally inspired by this and tweaked the idea to make superhero magnets for my teachers’ gifts this year. I blogged about it here and linked back to you :). http://tmuffin.com/superhero-magnets/

Why would anyone cut another person down that is trying to be nice and helpful ? I really enjoyed reading this. Too bad all you can see are mistakes Jenny , while trying to make yourself look so much better than anyone else.. Your world must be a very ugly to see only negative things .
Thank you Ashley for your wonderful blog.

I love these colours together, another cute easy idea! It makes me laugh that you say “it took me 15 minutes but” as if that’s ages! It probably takes longer to tidy up afterwards!

I totally took longer to clean up than it did to make them. Sometimes the drying time makes the project seem longer than it is, and this one was definitely one of those! I should probably change that “but” to an “and”… thanks for stopping by!

I love this idea Ashley!! My question for you is…Did you use a specific type of magnet? I tried a similar idea only I Mod Podged scrapbook paper (cut to size of course)to the clothespins but the magnetic strips I used barely held one piece of paper to the fridge…ugh! Thanks for any tips or ideas you might have!! I’m on my way to follow you on Facebook!!

Hello! For these ones I used an adhesive backed circle magnet I found at Walmart. They have an okay hold (1-2 papers), if you are wanting something with a super strong hold I totally recommend neodymium magnets. You can find them on Amazon or Etsy and they are ridiculously strong!
