I make a lot of different styles of glass tile magnets in my etsy shop, in fact I can make a glass tile magnet for you if you ask! I have been in super production mode lately trying to bulk up my inventory and hopefully begin consigning in some local shops! I am going to show you the general step by step of how the magic happens!
First things first I create my digital image sheet in photoshop. The ones I am going to show you are from my valentines line! I create my image sheet and then depending on my home printer ink situation I either print them off or send them off to print. the beauty of my sheets is that I have them both in 4×6 size for quick prints to my local print shop and letter size sheets for printing at home and not wasting paper! I am nothing if not frugal!
After I get my images printed I punch them out with my 1″ paper punch, I swear this tool has saved me! I can’t imagine doing this any other way! Once they are punched out I get my glass tiles ready for action. I lay them out flat sides up and squeeze a little bit of diamond glaze onto them. Sometimes I will use a tiny brush and spread it out, but usually I just let the paper do the work! Once they all have the glaze on them I drop and press the photo punches onto them, making sure the glaze comes all the way to the edges.
Then i let them dry. this is the hardest part for me! I am super impatient and so I usually use this time to cut out the paper backing for the packaging. Once they are dry I apply another thin layer of glaze over the back and once that is finally dry I attach the magnets!
Once those are ready to go I stick them onto the cardstock backing, which i glued washers to and slip them into a clear bag! Attach my label and they are good to go!
