So a while back (before we moved) I shared with you my plans for my kids bathroom. I haven’t made too much progress, okay…like really barely any, but I have painted the trim! Our entire house is done in lathe and plaster and stucco and other weirdy wall treatments which has been…interesting.
Anyways, here is a collage to show you what I am working with. Smallest bathroom ever! It wouldn’t seem so small if the ceiling didn’t slant over and cut off half the room. Well, it would still be small, but it would seem bigger. Also, it is the only room in the entire house that doesn’t have a window. Who knows why, not me! It makes taking photos of it hard, and since my photos are already questionable, I am going to apologize in advance for these ones!
As you can see we have beautiful vintage wood floors in our house. That is probably the best part about this bathroom. You walk in and there is the sink and the toilet. That’s it, nothing else. BORING! Also, if you follow me on instagram (which you should) you saw me post about my new re-purposed spice shelf. Well originally it was hanging in this room. When I took it down I found that big ole hole in the wall. Did I put it back, no way. I left the hole to deal with later!
Also, since it is such an old house we still have some original “hardware”, including this light button. It is actually a dimmer as well, you just turn the knob!
So yeah, I went in the other day and decided to knock this baby out finally get started doing something! I picked a gallon of medium gray paint and then dumped a little can of turquoise paint into it and mixed them all up. i think i should have put more turquoise in, but c’est la vie! Then i got started painting all the edges and trim areas. These parts are my least favorite because they are so time consuming! This room was no exception.
Actually, it might have been worse. You see what looks like a line a 5 year old painted? That is the actual line of the wall. it is going to make my hubby crazy when he finally goes upstairs and sees it! 😉 Anyways, that’s all I have done, maybe tomorrow I will roll out the rest of the wall…or maybe I will nap…we’ll see…
