I just want to start by saying that I haven’t been holding out on you, I just haven’t felt quite like our dining room has been done. And it definitely isn’t done in my opinion, but we have recently moved all our kids toys and art and other things out of the room that is supposed to be our dining room (that was serving as a playroom) and we are talking about moving the dining room in there and changing this little eat in space completely. I figure I should share it with you now before we move everything around and I possibly lose all of my hard work!
So you have already seen the spray painted dining room chairs, but I wanted to let you know that even after months of abuse from our kids the paint has held up as well as the day I painted them. I didn’t do any special treatment or coating, just painted them, let them dry and brought them back in! Amazing!
Next up, the awesome sign I painted. It was such a pain to hang on the wall (plaster walls are not my friend), but it brings a smile to my face every time I see it. Such fun colors, a fun font… what’s not to love!
Oh, the chandelier…I love this light so much that sometimes I just stand in my kitchen and look at it. One of my girl friends came over for dinner a while back and said it gave her a “lady boner” (best quote ever, btw) and to be honest, it really does! It is so fancy, lighthearted and all around amazing. I keep trying to think of more ways to use chandeliers in my house now!
I never told you about the table, but it was not the best work I’ve ever done. I sanded the whole thing by hand because I couldn’t get the sander to work, and then my hubby came home and sanded one tiny section with it. I stained it after that and his one section totally showed. So I sanded the whole thing again and re-stained it, but it’s never been perfect. Not to mention that I didn’t clear coat it (thinking I would sand and stain again someday) and my middle daughter has managed to destroy her little section of table with a fork and knife.
I love the overall look of the whole thing. The fun fiesta style. What do you think? Would you do something crazy with your dining room? Have you? Send me some pictures and I’ll share them on here!
