So maybe you remember that I started off this year with a plan to complete 6 pinterest pins. I’ve only completed 1 so far (my laptop cover) so I really need to get going! That’s where this project comes in…I love dream catchers, they are delicate looking and can be customized to match any decor.
I started off with a 8 inch embroidery hoop. I don’t crochet so part of the hold up was finding a pre-made doily that was the right size. Luckily my neighbors had a garage sale a few weeks ago and I found the perfect doily! I used embroidery floss to see through the rounded edges and attach it to my hoop. It sat like this for a while before I finally decide to go for it and add some beads and feathers.
I was a little nervous about messing it up and doing it wrong, but once I got started I realized that there was no wrong way to do it and that the uniqueness of each one is what makes it so special. I used some beads I had leftover from some wine glass markers I made last year and they were the perfect shades of blue and green for my craft room.
I used embroidery thread and just strung the bead on wrapping the bottom bead through the floss twice so it wouldn’t move. I tied the strands onto the bottom of the hoop as I went. Once they were all tied on I slipped some fun craft feathers into the bead holes and called it a day. It was a super easy and super fast (if I hadn’t been so worried about needing up) project that even the most novice crafter could complete without any trouble!
