You might have noticed when I was giving you the grand tour of my daughter’s bedroom that we have been using these awesome storage cubes for her dresser. They work great for baby clothes, but as she has gotten older they have gotten more and more full and with her second birthday only a week away I knew that she was going to outgrow the bins very quickly! Enter my awesome neighbor. He is always getting the hookup on free furniture it seems and is more than happy to share the wealth with me (Thank goodness). About a month ago he let me raid his garage and I picked up a couple of awesome things. A full sized solid wood dresser being one of them. I knew I wanted to fix it up for my littlests bedroom, but I couldn’t pick a color.
Luckily the last time I was at the restore as I swam through a sea of greys I stumbled on this beautiful creamy medium toned yellow. It is “beeswax” by Sherwin Williams. I know that I am not a prepper when it comes to painting so I chose to use my homemade chalk paint recipe again. You simply mix 2 cups of regular paint with between 1/4 and 1/2 a cup of plaster of Paris and a table spoonish of water to keep it from getting too thick. Sir them all together and you end up with a smooth and chalky paint that will adhere to an unorimed surface. I painted 2 coats of the chalky yellow paint on, letting each one dry for a few hours in between. Once the second coat was dry I painted on a thin layer of polyurethane to protect the paint from the abuse of three small kids. That is the only thing to consider when using chalk paint, you have to protect your project after you paint!
The only thing it is missing now are some pretty new knobs. The original ones are too round and flat and BORING! So I need your help, I’ve narrowed it down to these three and I need your advice on which ones to pick! So leave me a comment and tell me which you would choose!
Here it is in its new home, I can’t wait to pick out some knobs and give it that extra girly touch.

I love your redo!! I would go with the middle option and I would also think about adding some legs under it from lowes to add a more high end look! 🙂

Sarah! I love the idea of legs! I looked at it for so long and I am just not totally in love with how it looks in that spot. I am really trying not to rearrange her whole room (only one plug-in in there) but it might have to happen!
