Hi my name is Ashley and I am an addict. I’m addicted to big fun and funky earrings! I probably own 40 pairs and I seriously can’t help myself but want to buy more! However, with so many earrings I never seem to find the time to wear them all so I can’t really justify buying too many more. However this project is just the thing to cure my woes. I was recently contacted by Moonlight Feather and they sent me a few packages of their feathers to try out and make some crafts with. I was impressed with how fast my feathers arrived and also the quality of the feathers. Sometimes when you buy feathers you will get a mixed lot where some will be really great but mixed in with some duds. You know the ones that are bent, damaged or otherwise not up to par. Well that was not the case with these feathers. Each and every feather was in fantastic condition and perfect for use right out of the bag!
I decided that since I started this easy gift series by making a birthday present for my son’s teacher, it would only be fitting to end it with a Christmas present for her! I picked up a jewelry finding package at Walmart for $2, and it came with everything I needed to make a bunch of earrings! Start by attaching a straight bar to the the fishhook earring using pliers. The you will add three gold beads (leftover from this project) followed by a crimping bead. Then pick out one of your feathers and insert the shaft of the feather through the crimping bead and the bottom gold bead. Then using your pliers (or if you’re fancy, your crimpers) squeeze the crimping bead flat on top of your feather. That my friends is the last step. Now you simply repeat this process to make the match and you are done!
They were so quick and easy to make that I whipped up another pair using a bright pink feather. Then I simply packaged them up in a pretty pink box and they are ready to give! The Moonlight Feather products are very affordable and the quality is fantastic!
