I shared this post over at Sugar Bee Crafts a while back, but figured I would share it with all of you here too! If you’re anything like me you have a cupboard full of old pickle, pasta sauce and peanut butter jars. Wait, what? You don’t have that? Well start saving them now because this project is super easy with a big impact and will cost you next to nothing if you recycle those old jars!
The first thing you need to do is pick out your jars. Then run to your local hardware store and pick up a metal hose clamp ($1.50/each) for each jar you plan on using. For my project I used three jars and since I leave nothing to chance so I brought one of my jars to the hardware store with me! You will also need a board so if you don’t have one laying around pick one up. My go to spot for project boards is the scrap pile at Home Depot. Depending on how big you are going to make yours you can find totally usable boards for 50 cents!
I decided to make one big board with three wall vases but don’t worry, the directions are the same whether you use 1, 10 or 100 jars! Start off by prepping your board; give it a light sanding, a good wipe down and then you can paint/stain/distress to your hearts content. This is also the time to spruce up your clamps with some spray paint if you want. Once your board is dry grab your tape measure and lay out where you will put your vases. Once you have it laid out open up your metal clamps and screw them into the board. In order to get your screw into the tiny slit of the clamp you will need to use a drill and bit too open it up. Simply pick your spot and still into the offending slat. This step is really easy and your bit will go through the metal like butter!
Now that you have your board ready and your clamps attached you can add your jars! Simply slip them into the clamp, tighten it up and you are done! You can fill them up with water and fresh flowers, candles or plant fresh herbs and flowers in them. I didn’t have any fresh flowers around my house, but I have fake flowers for days! They look just as good as real ones and really dress up this project! Total spent for this project was $5!

I love this idea. It looks so pretty and unique. What a great way to recycle and add a touch of class to a room. Thanks for sharing. Visiting from Put A Bird On It Link Up!

Thank you so much! It is such a fun way of using up those old jars! I have a total soft spot for jars…all jars, all the time!
