Hello! I wanted to take a minute to talk about something that’s been on my mind. One of my goals for 2014 was to double my blog. Double the followers, the comments, the community and…double the income. I love the fact that I wake my kids up every morning and make them breakfast. I love that I get to take them to school and then pick them up at the end of the day. I love that I am able to make a home cooked meal every. single. night. I am hoping that once the littlest is in school (3 1/2 years from now) that I won’t have to go back to the real world and get a “real” job. I am hoping that I am able to grow my little community here until it becomes a place that can help support my family. I don’t want to send my kids to before or after school care. I don’t want to go back to eating frozen, prepared meals. I don’t want to miss out on all the small things that would pass me by if I had a full time job. Now don’t get me wrong, I worked a full time job for years even with kids. I juggled a 50 hour work week, commuting and raising kids just like many of you do. I took 4 week maternity leaves with all three of my kids because we couldn’t afford for me to stay home any longer than that. And now I’m spoiled and I don’t want to give up what I’ve got.
So where is this going…one of the ways for me to make money blogging is by writing sponsored posts. I belong to several networks that allow me to work with brands and provide you with sponsored content. This has become a more regular thing around here and I want you to know a few things about me and my feelings about sponosored content. There are literally dozens of opportunities each week that I can apply for, however I only apply for the ones that are products I truly like. If you see sponsored content on my blog I promise you it is because it is a brand/product/cause that I truly believe in. Most of the time it is something that I already buy and use in my life. Now I know that sometimes it can be a real turn off to feel like you are reading a commercial instead of a blog post and I promise I will try to keep my sponsored posts as natural and true to my style as possible. However, these opportunities are what allow me to continue to create this blog and bring you the amazing posts I try to offer! So please be patient with me and know that I am doing my best to balance the work/business part of this with the creative/fun part!
Thank you for your support, without you reading this blog there would be no way I could have come as far as I have. I look forward to writing and creating a community with you for a long time and as always if there is something you are dying to see me try let me know, I’m ALWAYS up for an adventure!

I also love that you’re being so honest. I am considering going full-time with my blogging, trying to make it into a real job. I also have kids, 4 of them, and being able to stay home would be wonderful. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love that you are being so honest and upfront with your readers about why you are doing more sponsored posts. I would also LOVE to blog part time so I can continue to stay home with my kids. If you don’t mind me asking, what ad networks are good to work with?
