So if you follow me on instagram or twitter you may know that I have a not so secret love of our football team – you know the one that rhymes with schmehawks. We are marching through the playoffs and I believe this is in large part to the awesome parties we’ve been throwing along the way. For our first playoff game we had a “Super Moments” party starring some of my favorite Tyson and Kraft foods remixed into fun football snacks. These delicious recipes are a huge hit and you will be the MVP of your party if you make them for your next big party! The best part is that during the playoff series all the way up to the big dance Tyson will have special endcaps in the freezer section and these same products will be on rollback at Walmart for only $5.98 and the Kraft dressings will have a special playbook on participating products in-store.
A few years ago I developed a love for an unusual food combination – chicken and waffles. I’m not from the south, but this pairing is AMAZING! AND by using the Any’tizers Popcorn Chicken they just got a whole lot easier. Simply bake the popcorn chicken like normal and while that is cooking whip up a batch of my Maple Chicken Gravy (recipe below). When your chicken is just about to come out of the oven pop a few mini waffles into the toaster to get them good a crispy. Then arrange your waffles onto a serving tray and top each waffle with a piece of chicken. Then using a fancy squeeze bottle ($1 at Walmart) squeeze your gravy on top of your chicken and waffles. Serve with a bottle of your favorite hot sauce and you have your Quarterback Chicken and Waffle Sliders!
Maple Chicken Gravy
- 3 Tbsp butter
- 3 Tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 cups chicken stock
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
First put the butter in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Once the butter has melted mix in the flour and stir it until it starts to brown. Once that mixture has browned add in the chicken stock and the maple syrup. Combine complete and continue to cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. After about 10 minutes you can turn off the heat and your gravy is ready to eat. I let my gravy cool off most of the way and then poured it into a squeeze bottle so that I could top my chicken and waffles all fancy like!
Because no party would be complete (or even started) without a yummy dip I had to come up with something extra special for this one! My hubby is a HUGE fan of buffalo chicken wings, and so I grabbed a bag of the Any’tizer Boneless Buffalo Chicken Wyngz, some cream cheese, shredded cheese and a bottle of Kraft Ranch. I started off by microwaving the Wyngz to get them soft. I then tossed them into my mini food processor and chopped them up. I then mixed them with half a container of cream cheese, a 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and 1/2 cup of Kraft Ranch. I then stuck that mixture into the oven for about 15 minutes at 400* to get it all hot and gooey. I can tell you right now, that this dip was the hit of the party. No party food is complete without a fun name so I present you with “Roughin’ the Kickin’ Buffalo Chicken Ranch Dip”!
I also threw together some classic party favorites that are sure to please even the tiniest of fans. A “Pick Six Layer Dip” with chips and some “Pigskins in a Blanket”.
And of course no football party would be complete without your very own penalty flags!
I would love to see how you incorproate your own Super Moments into a party and so would Tyson! Share your favorite football food names party tips and make sure you tag me and them (@TysonTweets).
