So I am not a huge fan of cereal for breakfast, it just doesn’t seem as satisfying as something warm and home cooked, but let’s be real I don’t always have the time or energy to cook a hot breakfast in the morning. When I do eat cereal my most favorite ever is Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds! Recently Honey Bunches of Oats asked me if I wanted to try two of their new flavors and it was a gimme! They are releasing two new flavors or cereal (Cinnamon Crunch and Chocolately Almond Crunch) and both of them are packed with a little something extra to give you some Morning Energy.
I gave my kids the choice of which one they wanted to try first and of course they all picked the chocolate one! Now let me start by saying that I don’t buy chocolate cereal normally, or well ever. However, this particular cereal was more like regular HBofO’s Almond variety only with tiny little pieces of chocolate sprinkled in, and really it wasn’t too bad. I checked it out and compared to chocolate chip pancakes with syrup the sugar content was WAY lower! Score one for the chocolate cereal! I think their favorite part was after they were done eating the cereal (and you better believe they ate every last bite) they were so excited to find chocolate milk in their bowl.
Please ignore the ridiculous painted on eyebrows; we went to a carnival the night before and she refused to wash the face paint off her face all the way. I personally chose to try the cinnamon Crunch flavor and man oh man was it good! It was super crunchy (which is how I like my cereal) and it packed a serious Cinnamon punch. It was so good and the best part was that it seriously kept me full all the way until lunch time! That folks, I was totally surprised by! Normally, I start to get hungry a couple hours after breakfast for that first morning snack and this day I made it all the way to lunch even after doing some serious shopping with all three kids in a mall! I think it might have something to do with the 10 grams of protein or the fact that each serving makes up more than 2/3 of your daily whole grain recommendation.
