The first job I ever had was working in a state park at a little deli/store. I worked there for 3 summers and one of the skills I really gained at that job was how to make the perfect milkshake. I would make probably 30 milkshakes a day, 5 days a week, 12 weeks every summer, so when I tell you that this milkshake is one of the best I’ve ever tried I know what I’m talking about! Now that I’m an adult and it seems like I am always trying to eat healthier and lose that extra baby weight, I don’t indulge in milkshakes quite as often as I used to. However, with summer just around the corner and the temps creeping back up I was determined to figure out a way to sneak milkshakes in so that my kids could enjoy a sweet treat too! Using the Silk unsweetened coconut milk adds extra calcium and protein without adding any extra sugar! You can download a coupon for $0.75 off by signing up here!
Almond Joy Milkshake
- 1 1/2 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1/2 cup Silk Unsweetened Coconut milk
- 1/4 cup Chocolate Syrup
- 2 Tbsp Almonds (whatever you have on hand – sliced, whole, pieces)
Start by scooping the ice cream into your blender. Add the coconut milk, chocolate syrup and almonds. Turn on the blender to “blend” and let all the ingredients mix together. Once it is a thick and creamy consistency pour your shake into your favorite drinking glass and enjoy! If you are wanting to up the cute factor top it with coconut flakes and/or almond pieces and use a pretty paper straw! If you want to find more fun recipes for your leftover coconut milk check out the Silk Facebook page here! Now, I’m off to enjoy the sunshine with the perfect milkshake and my favorite little people!
