Hey everyone! I am so excited to be sharing something a little different today. Abbey from The Cards We Drew has organized over 100 bloggers and we are all sharing some projects to help you prepare for the 4th of July!! We all got together to create the #ultimateredwhiteandblue party on the internet! After my tutorial you will find links to all the posts so make sure you go visit some of those talented ladies and get some more inspiration.
My contribution was something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while and just didn’t have a good excuse. But when i was at the Dollar Store picking up some other stuff and I saw these cute napkins I knew that I didn’t have to wait any longer! This idea is simple enough and you only need three things: candle holders, patterned napkins and mod podge!
To start with open up one of your napkins and carefully peel the two layers apart. They are barely stuck together and so just a quick rub on one corner should be enough to get them apart. Once you have just your top patterned layer wrap it around you candle holder to get a rough idea of how much you are going to need to cut off. I wanted my pattern to appear seamless so I trimmed off the star border from the edges so that it was only around the top and not down the side. Once the napkin was all trimmed down I spread a thin layer of mod podge over one section of the candle holder and slowly laid my napkin out trying to keep the top star border aligned with the top of the glass.
I continued doing this all the way around the candle holder and once I got to the seam where the two edges met I made sure to go over the top with another layer of mod podge. Just to make sure it stuck and didn’t peel off! This is seriously a super easy project and can be whipped out in less than 10 minutes!
Now if you are still looking for some inspiration, check out one of these fantastic bloggers and their brilliant ideas!
