So when I was planning out my first day of school I knew that I wanted to do something that was going to leave a lasting impression on my new students. I know that kids have a soft spot for candy and I remembered meeting the amazing LolliPics at SNAP back in April and I was super impressed with the quality of their products. LolliPics creates personalized, handcrafted lollipops with edible images. I created my design in PicMonkey and uploaded it directly to their site. I loved that I could see exactly how it was going to look on different colors before ordering!
I decided to go with half of the opaque red lollipops and half the transparent red. Our school colors are gold and maroon so it seemed like a safe bet. I also needed them with kind of a quick turnaround (because I waited until the last minute to order) and they were totally able to meet my deadline! I submitted my order and just 10 days later my LolliPics were on their way to me. That was a whole week earlier than I needed them!
On our first day of school I decided to save my sweet treats for the end of the day so that the kids could show their parents these fun treats when they got home as a way to start talking about their day. We spent our day learning about classroom rules, getting to know one another and even sneaking a little art in.
After our last recess as we were getting ready to go home I passed out the LolliPics to all my students and had them pose for a first day of school photo. They are total cheese balls!
If you aren’t already I totally recommend following LolliPics all over the internet, because they “Share Happy” everywhere they go AND they have some incredible designs and products that are worth checking out! You can find them on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Google + AND Twitter!
