Dee sent me this pretty awesome metal vase that I was reluctant to change, but in the name of all things crafty I forced myself to come up with something new and fun for it. I have been in a total watercolor place lately (hello here and here) and I knew that I wanted to try a new technique with this project. So I grabbed some fall colored paints and put a little bit of each into a plastic cup. I then added a couple of tablespoons of water and mixed them up.
Then using my favorite foam brushes i simply pressed them against the top edge of the vase and let the paint run down the side all willy nilly. I repeated this all the way around mixing up the colors as I went. Then I flipped the whole thing upside down and repeated the process from the bottom. That way all my colors got super mixed up and water coloresque.
I let it dry for about 20 minutes and then stuck some flowers in it and called it a day! Super quick, super easy and the perfect touch of impressionistic fall for my table! Check out all the fun posts from all these fantastic bloggers by clicking on the links below!
