Ruffled Fabric Flower
Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and maybe a tiny bit of spring is in the air. With those moods in mind I pulled a soft pink fabric from my fabric scrap stash the other day to see if I could turn it into a sweet little something, and this ruffled fabric flower came to be.
Supplies
- Light-weight fabric
- Yarn
- Large needle
- Thread
- Scissors
1) Cut your fabric into a 4×24 in. strip. You can change the size depending on how big you want your flower to be.
2) Cut a piece of yarn that is the same length as your fabric strip. Thread your needle, double the yarn, and knot the end.
3) Sew loose stiches through the middle of the fabric strip, gathering the fabric as you go.
4) After your thread is pulled all the way through your fabric strip, wrap the remaining yarn around the middle of the bunched fabric a few times, and knot it securely.
5) “Open” your fabric so it makes a complete circle, and fluff it a little as needed.
Use your fabric flower as a gift topper, or attach a safety pin to the back and pin it to your favorite jacket or sweater.
