Supplies
- 1 piece of flat felt
- Scissors
- Needle & thread
- Button (optional)
1) Lay your piece of flat felt horizontally and cut a 3-inch strip off the edge.
2) Next lay your 3-inch strip out horizontally, and cut a 1/2-inch strip off the edge.
3) Fold the 3-inch strip so the edges meet in the middle.
4) Sew and knot a few stitches to keep it together. Be sure to do a little stitch close to each edge so the edges of the fabric won’t pop out in your final bow.
5) Turn the folded strip over so the seam edge is facing down. Give it a pinch in the middle to make a bow shape, and wrap your 1/2-inch strip around the middle (covering up your earlier stitches).
6) Sew the middle to keep it secure.
7) Add a button on top for extra flair if you wish.
Use an extra piece of felt to sew a little loop on the back of the bow, pin a safety pin to the back of it, or use a dab of hot glue to put your bow in action. I attached it to my dog’s collar. (Isn’t he adorable?) You could put it on a fabric headband, top a gift with it, or pin it on your favorite spring sweater. Let us know what ideas you come up with to use your felt bow!
