My kids are constantly bringing home “masterpieces” and the fridge is only so big. So I decided to have them each make their own scrapbook album. They can add their work as the year goes on and at the end of the year they’ll have a keepsake album.
Keepsake Album Supplies
- Wooden Letters and/or Numbers
- Elmers paint pens
- Elmers Xtreme Glue
- Chalkboard spray paint
- Kraft Paper Album with inserts
I started off by laying the albums flat face down and giving them a couple of light coats of chalkboard spray paint. While those were drying I gave each of my kids their letter/number and an assortment of paint pens. Then I let them go crazy. You can really tell a lot about each of their personaslities based on how they decorate. My son is super exact and precise with his work, while my middle daughter can be a bit of a whirlwind. My youngest is all about pretty and things being “just so”. And so it was no surprise that she was still working long after the other two were done.
Once their creations were completely dry I used some of the ElmersXtreme glue to attach them to the fronts of the albums.
As a finishing detail I wrote each of their names under their letter or number so there would be no confusion down the road! Now they are all ready for school to start and the masterpieces to make their way home!
