I love the way a good gift bag really dresses up an ordinary gift, but I hate the overpriced gift bags you find in store. These ones are a super steal though because I picked up this pack of 13 bags, the decoupage papers AND the gold gilding for about $13. That brings the cost for each bag to only a dollar. However, I have a bazillion (or ten sheets) of the decoupage papers and a pretty much full bottle of gilding left over so yeah, it’s a no brainer.
I started off by laying out and decoupaging all my paper shapes on my plain gift bags. I love the wood grains that the flowers and branches are made up of, and I love the woodsy vibe this gives off.
After the decoupage was dry I went back and highlighted different parts of the papers with the liquid gold gilding. I had never used this stuff before, but I am in love. It is amazing. It is also super stinky so open a window before you use it.
Once the liquid gilding was dry (about 10 minutes) I added some bright gold tissue paper and they were ready to go. Now I have the perfect bag for any occasion and my gifts are tiny works of art.
Now check out some more amazing posts using liquid gold gilding!

I really love your bags! I totally thought you hand painted them and was extremely jealous of your talent! Now that I know it’s decoupage paper I can make some too, LOL! Thanks for joining us!

What a fun idea! And the wood tone paper is really cool too.
