You all know how much I love incorporating natural elements into my design and my home and the fall holidays are one of my favorite times to change up my decor. I decided this year that I wanted to try my hand at creating a pumpkin centerpiece, but I wasn’t sure where I would be able to find the right flowers. We live in a small town that doesn’t have a huge selection of florists or even really any selection. So I looked around online and found ProFlowers, an online florist that has a HUGE selection of bouquets, treats and special occasion offerings. I chose the Fall Favorites bouquet, because well, how can you go wrong with something that is billed as a favorite!
I started off by grabbing a pumpkin at the grocery store, and hollowed it out just like I would have if I was going to carve it, making sure the opening was large enough to fit a vase though! You might want to trace a circle on the top of the pumpkin using the widest part of your vase if you are worried about it fitting.
Once you have the pumpkin empty and your vase inside all you need to do is add the flowers!! This is the fun part!
Have you ever put flowers in a pumpkin before? Any other gourd? It was so easy that I imagine I am going to be looking for more ways to display flowers in unique and unusual ways!
