Happy Friday Friends!
This week around my house has been insane! We had a CRAZY wind storm on Tuesday and were without power for about 10 hours total. And we were the lucky ones! My dad/sister/brother have all been without power since Tuesday at their houses. We had about 165,000 without power and are down to around 120,000 at last estimate.
Many down power lines, trees and sadly, lives lost. School and work closed and a lot of sitting around and hanging out! Ya, It has been insane.
So now, let’s talk food.
I won’t lie, these are the most glamorous pictures, nor is this a glamorous meal. But it was quick and easy and the kids thought it was super fun.
I buttered the bread, just like I would for grilled cheese.
And sliced all the cheese.
Heated up the waffle iron and gave it a little spray with non stick cooking spray.
Start layering everything on.
And close down the top of the waffle iron. One thing to be careful with is if the cheese is too close to the edge of the bread it’ll go right over the side of the bread and makes quite the mess!
But hey, it’s totally worth the mess and it was fun!
Grilled Cheese and Turkey Sandwich Ingredients:
- bread
- sliced cheese

- turkey
Spray your waffle iron and get it heated up. While it is heating up butter your bread. Slice cheese into meltable pieces, not too thick, and not too thin. Layer everything onto waffle iron and let it cook!
Have you ever changed up your grilled cheese sandwich to put a fun little twist on it?
