Hi, my name is Ashley and I don’t send Holiday Cards. It’s not because I don’t want to. I really, really do. Sometime around July I start thinking about them. I plan fabulous, handmade, layered cards. With sparkles, and photos and magic oozing from them. Then November rolls around and I remember these fabulous plans and they turn into store bought cards with updated family photos, except I haven’t scheduled family photos. Then December rolls around and I realize that I never bought store bought cards to go with my new family photos. And when Christmas finally rolls around I end up shoving 8×10’s, 5×7’s and wallet sized photos at my family members as we sit around the tree and exchange gifts, and then go hide my face in shame.
Well I am going to tell you something amazing. I have Christmas cards this year. And not those cheesy ones you get at the last minute after all the shelves have been picked clean. Heavy duty, card stock with photos printed on them. They are amazing. Best part. I drug and dropped my photos and hit send. Staples did all the heavy lifting. They had more choices than I could even sift through, seriously, I couldn’t have possibly looked at them all AND been expected to make a decision. AND you can save 20% off your order of cards by using the code HOLIDAY20 by12/26!
So while I was on a holiday roll, I also ordered ALL of those 8×10’s, 5×7’s and 4×6’s as well. Then I got a little wild and crazy. I decided that I needed a new ornament for my tree. Mind you, the tree isn’t even up yet. And it won’t be until tomorrow (my husband is a serious stickler about the tree not going up until after Thanksgiving). Anyway, back to the ornament. It’s ceramic, and round and it has my kids all smiling like they love each other on one side and my hubby and I on the other. It might be my new favorite Christmas thing. Ever.
THEN, because I was totally getting into the spirit at this point I decided to get a little crazy and I photoshopped some Mickey Mouse ears onto all of us, because we are taking the kids to Disneyland for Christmas! They don’t know it yet though, so shhhhhhhh. I figure it will be such a great surprise to let them open one package early. And when they do, they will find this luggage tag with out picture on it. But even more important it will be our photo with ears. I’m pretty sure my son will figure it out right away and I can’t wait to see his reaction and then the girls when they figure out what’s going on.
