Normally I dislike the crust on pizza, it’s just too dry, so I created a dipping sauce to please any palette and compliment the different flavors of pizza.
So after the rush of the holidays and massive amount of cooking that take place this time of year, I am definitely ready to step back and have some low maintenance dinners. One of our favorite easy dinners is frozen pizza. Isn’t it everybody’s? I mean it is one of our go to tailgating foods. Actually, I don’t think I know a single person who doesn’t like pizza. Do you? I do have to admit something though. I don’t like plain crust. Stuff it with cheese, sure. Get rid of it all together, heck ya. But plain old crust, leaves me feeling a little sad. Like the crust got forgotten or the pizza stole all the toppings.
Well fear not, friends. I am here to save the day and rescue that boring crust from the compost bin with not one but TWO amazing dipping sauces. So first things first, you need to grab a few ingredients. Now you probably have these around the house, but if not you can run to your local Walmart and pick up whatever you’re missing.
First up, pizza. Obviously. Now, because I was going for a crustier pizza I made sure to buy one that actually tastes good. Not like cardboard. You know what I’m talking about. Dry, bland, rubbery, and stiff are all out. I don’t know if you have tried these Red Baron ones yet, but there are a ton of topping choices and the crust is really yummy…for crust. I mean their tag line is “Crust Perfection in Every Bite!”
Now, while you are grabbing your pizza (I went with the always popular Red Baron Classic Crust 4-Cheese) make sure you have the rest of these things as well. Each recipe only take a couple ingredients and a couple of minutes to make so, never fear, you don’t even need to write it down! Also, since you are already going to be in the freezer aisle and you are already going to wowing the pants off your family and friends, you should probably pick up this pie. I grabbed it on a whim (because I’m like that) and it was seriously like the most amazing sweet treat I had put in my mouth in ages. Probably since before the holidays. It was a vanilla and caramel cream pie on a cookie crust. Yep, totally droolworthy!
Buttery Ranch Dipping Sauce
- 4 Tbsp. melted butter
- 1 Tbsp. ranch powder mix
These dipping sauce was inspired from my college days. One of the “splurge” meals when I lived in the dorms were these amazing $10 pizza’s that came with this garlic butter dipping sauce that pretty much changed the pizza game for me. I had never thought of dipping pizza in anything but ranch dressing before that. That sauce though, OMG. This dipping sauce is like the perfect marriage of the two. You get the rich, buttery flavor with a hint of the tang from ranch. It is a total people pleaser (especially little people). All you need to do is mix your melted butter, powdered ranch mix and parmesean cheese. That’s it. Done and done!
Honey Sriracha Dipping Sauce
- 1/4 cup melted honey
- 1 Tbsp sriracha (give or take how spicy you like things)
Now if you thought that the last recipe was easy, you’re in for a shock. This one, even easier. Simply add the warm honey and sriracha to a bowl and mix together. Now this one is an amazing combination, because you get the sticky sweetness of the honey right up front. Then, BAM, the spicy kick gets you right in the face. It’s addictive, seriously.
So go ahead and try one or both for your next pizza night, I promise you won’t regret it!
