One of my favorite parts of traveling is getting to sample lots of different foods. I love finding local restaurants and trying new dishes that I can’t get at home. Which, if you live in an area lacking in diverse cuisine like I do, is basically EVERYTHING!! So keep reading to find some of my favorite eats in Denver!
Rocky Top Tavern
4907 Lowell Blvd
Denver, CO 80221
After landing in Denver we headed straight to our Airbnb to drop off our stuff and get our bearings. We arrived a little before check-in time, but never fear amazing food was to be found literally around the corner. Rocky Top features traditional bar foods done right. And their tatertots, my husband could not stop talking about how good they were! Definitely recommend!
Cleopatra Grill & Hummus
10250 Federal Blvd
Federal Heights, CO 80260
I absolutely love middle eastern and mediterranean cuisine. When my husband traveled to Egypt earlier this year I was so jealous about all the incredible foods he got to try. So when he says that this place is as good as anywhere he ate IN EGYPT I believe him. We tried a few different items including the chicken shawarma, falafel sandwich, and spanakopita. It was out-of-bounds good, in fact it was so good I took some hummus and pita to go so that I could snack on it later when my belly wasn’t quite so full. This place isn’t in Denver proper, but it was on our way home from Rocky Mountain National Park and totally worth the stop!
Tocabe
3536 W 44th Ave
Denver, CO 80211
I spent a lot of time researching places to eat while we were in Denver, and Tocabe kept coming up. Tocabe is an authentic Native American eatery serving just about any kind of indian taco you could dream up. This place was located less than a mile from our Airbnb and the food was phenomenal! We discovered that it was also featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives (which is a favorite show of mine) so you know it’s good!
Sam’s No. 3
1500 Curtis Street
Denver, CO 80202
This place is located adjacent to the 16th Street Mall, so while we had a 30 minute wait for a table we were able to stroll and shop the mall while we waited. We found out after arriving that Sam’s No. 3 was also featured on Triple D (another score for us) and it was easy to see why. The portions are ridiculous, I mean look at that burrito, and the food was so incredibly good that it was pretty much impossible not to eat until we needed to be rolled out. This place was worth the wait and then some!!
Denver is definitely on my list for a return trip so let me know, where are your favorite places to eat?!?
